Apple Pie






HOMEMADE APPLE PIE

Ingredients:
1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
3 Tbsp. Flour
2 Tbsp. Water
1/2 cup White Sugar
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
6-8 Granny Smith Apples - peeled, cored and sliced
1 Tbsp. Vanilla Extract
2 Tsp. Cinnamon
1 Tsp. Pumpkin Pie Spice
1 Recipe for a 9" Double Pie Crust 

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in flour. Add water, white sugar, brown sugar, spices and bring to a boil. Reduce temperature and let simmer.  Add vanilla extract.
2. Place the bottom crust in your pie pan. Mix prepared apples with sauce.  Fill pie crust with apples.  Cover with a lattice pie crust layer. Brush top with egg wash. 
3. Bake 15 minutes in preheated oven. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees and continue baking for 40-50 minutes, until apples are soft.
